Schuitema Wins in a Massive Comeback




Eleanor Schuitema recorded one of the biggest come-from-behind victories in Golfweek Junior Tour history on Sunday at Kearney Hill Golf Links. After an opening round 82, Eleanor sat 7 strokes behind the leader outside the top 10. However, she came out white hot on the final day, racking up an eagle and five birdies in the first 10 holes. Her 67 on Sunday was one of the better rounds in GJT history and helped her earn her second win of the season. Clare Yeazell finished one stroke back after shooting 77-73 for a 150 total. Lexi Ray rounded out the top three, posting 78-73, 151.





Davis Gochenouer piled up eight birdies over the weekend en route to shooting 73-70 at the University Club of Kentucky. The 143 total gave Davis his 4th career GJT win, which cemented his place in the Hall of Fame. Davis led after day one and then backed that up with the round of the tournament on day two as well. He recoded an five shot win. Two players managed to finish five shots back. Both Cameron Phillips (76-72) and Hank Roebuck (75-73) ended the tournament in a tie for second place.







Despite being one of the younger players in the division, Brody Alexander led the field with seven birdies at the University Club of Kentucky while picking up his second Golfweek Junior Tour win. It was Brody's first win since this same weekend last year, although that victory came at Kearney Hill. Despite starting the day three shots back, Brody shot 35 on the front and seized control that he would not give back. He totaled a 150 (74-76). Sam Fauver finished the weekend in second place after shooting 72-79, 151. Charlie Spiller had the round of the day on Saturday and came in third (71-81, 152).






Carson Long rang up eight birdies over the weekend and tied for the round of the day on Saturday on the way to his first career Golfweek Junior Tour. Despite the great round on Saturday, Carson found himself five strokes back entering the back nine. He then proceeded to pick up four birdies and fire a 33 on the back to solidify his victory. It was the first win in his GJT career. Grayson Hayden posted scores of 81-71 to finish in second place at 152. Dylan Logsdon had seven birdies on Sunday and the round of the day with a 68 to finish in third (85-68, 153).







Alli Wiertel had the round of the day on both Saturday and Sunday at Kearney Hill Golf Links. That play earned Allie her first Golfweek Junior Tour victory in her third start. Alli's win was highlighted by her 70 on Sunday which included four birdies. Kennedy Gutierrez came in second place on the weekend after scores of 77-73. Third place went to Miley Kennard, who shot 75-78, 153.
