Han & Parker into the Hall of Fame
The Girls 15-19 division at Kearney Hill Golf Links was packed full of great soring as 7 girls finished the event at even-par or better. Madison Glisson opened the event with a two-stroke lead after a six-under par round of 66, including eight birdies on her card. Jodie Han, Elizabeth Ryu, Sarah Vojtko and Meadow Tian were all in pursuit of the lead after opening rounds in red figures. Jodie Han was two back heading into the final round, when she carded a bogey-free 68 to come from behind and take home the Girls 15-19 division title! Jodie carded 9 birdies and only 1 bogey over the two rounds of competition to finish the event at 136 (-8), and a three-stroke victory. This win earned Jodie a spot in our GolfWeek Junior Tour Hall of Fame!
Madison Glisson was our runner up at 139 (-5), carding 10 birdies in the event, the most of any player in the field. Serena Wu rounded out our podium finishers after a bogey-free 68 in the final round to finish the event at 140 (-4). Elizabeth Ryu and Meadow Tian finished in a tie for fourth place at 143 (-1).
The Boys 16-19 division competed at the University Club of Kentucky and the Big Blue course provided a tough test and an exciting finish! Charlie Straubel, Will Stuart and John Lunsford were all tied for the lead after opening with rounds of 70 (-2). There were 15 other players within 3 strokes of the lead heading into the final round of play. Ryan Parker (72-69), Charlie Straubel (70-71) and Barron Mundy (71-70) were tied at the top of the leaderboard at 141 (-3) and would need extra holes to decide the champion. Ryan Parker would hole a 25-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to seal the victory in the Boys 16-19 and overall Boys 14-19 divisions! Ryan's victory in the overall Boys 14-19 division earned him a spot in the GolfWeek Junior Tour Hall of Fame!
Barron Mundy and Charlie Straubel were our co-runner up finishers. Barron led the field in birdies this week with 10, over the two days of competition. Charlie was our champion last week at Pipestone GC and continued his excellent play. Will Stuart finished in solo fourth at 143 (-1). Brayden Casolari, Samuel Harris and John Lunsford finished in a tie for fifth place at even par, 144.
The Boys 14-15 division was also at the Big Blue course and Jack Burrice dominated his way to a five-stroke victory! Jack carded 11 birdies and an eagle en route to a pair of 71s for a two-round total of 142 (-2). This is Jack's second win of the 2024-2025 season! Luke Haarer finished runner up after rounds of 75-72 for a total of 147 (+3). Austin Nicholas and Parker Geldhof finished in a tie for third place at 149 (+5).
Back at Kearney Hill Golf Links, the Girls 14 and Under division was tight at the top of the leaderboard after the opening round. Anna Phillps led the way with an even-par round of 72, while Taylor Harstine and Emma Gonzalez-Ribble were two-strokes back in second place. Taylor carded 3 birdies and only 1 bogey in the final round to come from behind and take home her second GWJT trophy of the year! Taylor finished the event with rounds of 74-70, 144 (E) to earn a four-stroke victory. Anna Phillips finished runner up at 148 (+4) and Emma Gonzalez-Ribble rounded out our podium finishers at 157 (+13).
Greyson Cloern led the Boys 13 and Under division at Kearney Hill Golf Links from wire-to-wire to take home the trophy! He carded back-to-back under par rounds of 71-69 for a two-day total score of 140 (-4). Hayden Li finished runner up after a final round 71 got him back to level par for the tournament. Mason Etscorn rounded out our podium finishers at 146 (+2), after rounds of 75-71.
