Wade, O'Grady victorious at Notre Dame

Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame showed its teeth on a 'cool' and windy weekend in August. The Girls 15-19 division was led by Delaney Wade, an incoming Freshman at Wofford College. Delaney found herself four strokes off the lead after an opening round of 5-over par, 76. That deficit quickly disappeared, as she made 3 birdies and an eagle in the first five holes to open her second round. Delaney managed her way around the rest of Warren GC to shoot a final round 1-under par, 70 to win by 3 strokes. Sophia Christy carded rounds of 75-74 to finish in second place at 7-over par and Eva Becerril rounded out our podium finishers at 10-over par 152.

The Boys 16-19 division was jam packed at the top of the leaderboard which allowed for lots of excitement coming down the stretch. At the start of the final round, 10 players were within three shots of the lead. It was Sawyer O'Grady who outlasted them all to earn his spot on top of the podium for the Boys 16-19 and overall Boys 14-19 divisions. Sawyer carded consistent rounds of 71-71 to finish the event at level par, 142. Michael Distefano and Colin Riehl finished in a tie for second place at one-over par, 143.

Joseph (JP) Levan took home the trophy in our Boys 14-15 division. JP was three strokes off the lead going into the final round, when he turned on the jets, making 5 birdies over a nine-hole stretch to cement himself at the top of the leaderboard. JP carded rounds of 74-70, finishing the event at 2-over par and earned himself a four-stroke victory. Pierce Talarico and Benjamin Divido finished in a tie for second place at 6-over par, 148.

The Boys 13 & Under division followed suit with another come from behind victory. Blaise Barnum was able to overcome a three-stroke deficit during the final round to win the division by one stroke. Blaise carded six birdies over the 36 holes of competition to finish the event at 2-over par, 144. Nick Pollak was our runner-up, just one stroke out of first at 3-over par, 145. Cole Katien played his final 14 holes of the tournament 3-under par to finish the event in third place at 5-over par, 147.
