Tropf, Vento, and Sacramento Victorious at Delaware
Out of 51 golfers in the Boys 16-19 Division, only one player finished the tournament under par—and that player was our champion, Landon Tropf. Tropf put together an impressive two-day total of 136 (-4) to win the division by five shots. His final-round 67 featured just one bogey, which came on his 17th hole. Henry Schreiber finished runner-up after posting two consistent rounds of 70-71. Matthew Ferguson and Jake Hardin shared third place. Ferguson bounced back, carding a second-round 68 after a tough opening day.
Benjamin Vento came from two shots behind in the final round, firing an impressive 66that included five birdies and just one bogey to win our Boys 14-15 Division. Finishing two shots behind Vento was Myles Ray, who posted a two-day total of even-par 140. In third place was Josiah Swan, who carded rounds of 69-73 to finish the tournament at 2-over par.
Cameron Sacramento captured his third win of the season at Delaware Country Club, firing a two-day total of 137 (-3), highlighted by an impressive second-round 66. Sacramento’s front nine in the second round included four birdies and two bogeys before he finished strong on the back nine to secure the victory. Chase McCauley bounced back after an opening-round 72 with a second-round 68 to finish the tournament at even par and secure a second-place finish. Rex Shieh was our third-place finisher in the Boys 13 & Under Division, firing a two-day total of 150 (+10).
