Shilts and Gochenouer at NCR CC

Jenna Shilts took home her 2nd title on the GolfWeek Jr Tour this season with a 71-73, 144 total. Her first round 71 was good enough for medalist position over Kate Brody (72) however, Kate would take over the lead on Sunday through 27 holes with a 36 on the first nine. It took a birdie on the last hole (#9) on Sunday for Jenna to claim the title by just 1 stroke over Kate Brody and this is now her second win on tour this season, her other win came at Notre Dame in August.

Davis Gochenouer claimed his 3rd win on tour in 3 seasons and this weekend was his 2nd overall win. It was not easy for him, though, as AJ Wilhelm would post a 65 on Sunday and tie Davis with a 1 under par, 139 total for the tournament. Heading to a playoff with the overall boys title on the line, it would take 6 holes before the champion was established. Davis and AJ would par #10, #11, birdie #12, par #13, and bogey #17 before Davis' par on the difficult 18th would take the win. Davis' other wins came at Yankee Trace and Beavercreek earlier this year.

AJ Wilhelm posted the lowest round the GolfWeek Jr Tour has seen at NCR CC on Sunday with 5 birdies and no bogies for a 65. This ties his career low round, and he needed it to take home the Boys 16-19 title by just 1 stroke. His 139, 1 under par total, was good enough for the win over Jack Zubkus who posted a 69 on Sunday for a 140 even par total. Although AJ would not win the overall boys title in the playoff, he took home a huge win over 43 players in the Boys 16-19 division in just his first start on the GolfWeek Jr Tour this season.
