Rodgers Back in Winners Circle
Jake Rodgers captured the win in the Boys 16-19 division this weekend on the Golfweek Junior Tour. The win is the first for Jake since the spring of 2019. His victory on Stone Ridge Ridge Golf Club comes on the heels on the round of the tournament on Sunday. Jake carded a 37 on the back nine on Sunday after being tied for the lead after 27 holes. He posted a 76-75 for a 151 total over two days. Jared Wells finished the weekend in second place with scores of 77 and 80 for a 157 total. Luke Grilliot had back-to-back rounds of 83 for a 166 total.
Ryan Parker lapped the field at Bowling Green State University this weekend with the two lowest rounds of the tournament. Ryan shot 76-77 for a 153 total. His final score finished 16 shots clear of the next competitor. It is Ryan's second career win on the Golfweek Junior Tour and first in over two years. Ryan carded five birdies and an eagle over the weekend, both of which led the field. Ayaan Bansal came in second place in the division with scores of 84-85 for a 169 total. Cayden Staib finished four shots back of that after shooting 85-88.
Charlie Belch broke through on Sunday with his first Golfweek Junior Tour win. Charlie had already recorded three top 5 finishes this fall but used strong play throughout the weekend to bring home his first victory. He shot 80-75 on the weekend for a 155 total. Owen Heilmann used the low round of the tournament on Sunday with a 74 to finish at 158 after Saturday's 84. Dane Sweikar shot rounds of 83-80 for a 163 total to wrap up third place.
Aanya Bansal used the low round of the day on both days to snag her first Golfweek Junior Tour title. She shot 98-95 for a 193 total. Caroline Burns finished in second place. Her two day total of 206 atfer a 105 on Saturday and 101 on Sunday.
