Red numbers in Muncie

After 6 years on the GolfWeek Jr Tour, Gavin Hare earned his break out victory against a tough field and low scores. Gavin would open the first round with a 67 that included 7 birdies and a tie for the low round of the day and his career. In the second round, playing in the lead group with Mikey Schutte, Harrison Zipfel, and Brody Sorrell, Gavin would open with 2 birdies to set the pace. Brody Sorrell, however, would post an eagle on the second hole and a birdie on the 3rd hole to match Gavin's pace. The two players would continue under par until posting a 36 hole tie at 136, 8 under par. It took 2 playoff holes before Gavin Hare would earn his first Boys 16-19 and Overall Boys title.

Cooper Reitsma is becoming a dominant player in the Boys 14-15 division with back-to-back wins at Michigan State and a week later, at Player's Club. Cooper posted a 2 under par, 70 in round one, and after a solid, even par, front nine Sunday morning, looked to be playing solid and steady golf. It was on the 10th hole that his round took a turn with a double bogey, which put him within striking distance for eventual runner-ups Eli Wessel and Caden Baker. Cooper would take control back of his round finishing the round with 4 birdies and no bogies to win the 14-15 division by 2 strokes, and a score of 140.

Aaron Xu posted the low round of his career on Sunday with the help of 9 birdies and just 1 bogey. His 8 under par round of 64, which included an incredible closing nine score of 30, would catapult him to a victory by 8 strokes over JT Kelley. Aaron led the field with 11 birdies for the weekend, and his 74-64 138 total is his lowest tournament score on the GolfWeek Jr Tour.
