Playoff at Purdue

Titus Boswell stepped onto the 18th tee box on Sunday at Purdue University's Kampen Course with a one stroke lead. A bogey on the final hole forced him into a sudden-death playoff with Leo Wessel. It took Titus four holes, but he finally prevailed on the par 3 13th hole with a birdie. Titus fired rounds of 71 and 69 for a 140 total and his first Golfweek Junior Tour win. Leo played incredibly steady golf all weekend, recording only one bogey. He shot rounds of 70-70 to finish in second place. Jacob Modleski put up a 141 total (71-70) on the weekend to finish in third place.

Brayden Miller took home the Boys 14-15 division title this weekend with a 142 total. The 142 included a 68 on Sunday which was the lowest round of the tournament for any division. Brayden started Sunday two shots back of first place. He racked up four birdies in his first seven holes en route to a front nine 32 that would give him a lead he never surrendered. The win was Brayden's 9th on the Golfweek Junior Tour. Charlie Spiller rang up 10 birdies over the weekend to solidify 2nd place at even par 144. Jake Cesare rounded out the top three with a 148 total at Kampen.

Diane Guercio had the low round of the day on both Saturday and Sunday at Kampen to capture her very first Golfweek Junior Tour victory. She shot 74-77 for a total of 151 at the difficult course while leading the field in birdies with seven. Diane opened with a front side 36 on Saturday and never looked back, keeping the lead the entire way. Second place went to Kennedy Gutierrez after she shot 78-78 for a 156 total. Kennedy was the youngest player in the field, just starting 6th grade. Eleanor Schuitema finished the weekend in third place. She shot a pair of 83s to wrap up at 166.

Lyoto Bellon captured the win in the Boys 13 and Under division on Sunday afternoon. Lyoto started the final day one shot back of the lead. After a back and forth battle, he finally grabbed the lead on the 34th hole of the tournament and parred the final two holes for his first Golfweek Junior Tour win at a 146 total. His 71 on Sunday was the low round on the tournament for the division. Carson Long was in the thick of the tournament all weekend but came up just a shot short, finishing with a 147 total (74-73). Macauley Meyers and Miles Green tied for third place at 150.
