Pagnotto takes home overall win
A first round 75 saw Michael Pagnotto in contention, but still in fourth place prior to the final round. A front nine 33, that included 2 birdies and no bogies, vaulted him to the top of leaderboard. Michael was eventually caught before the final hole. A birdie on the final hole of the tournament proved to be the difference as he finished at 147 and two clear of his nearest opponents in the Boys 14-15 division, and also good enough for the Boys 14-19 win. After three previous runner-up finishes, it was Michael's first Golfweek Junior Tour win. Carson Long (72-77) and Brady Barnum (74-75) both tied for second at 149.
Jackson Harris tied for the low round on Saturday at Denison Golf Club with a one over par 72. Four bogeys on the front nine on Sunday left him with little breathing room coming down the stretch. Jackson found himself tied for the led with just three holes remaining. A par on the final hole helped him escape with his fifth career Golfweek Junior Tour victory and first of the season at a score of 148. Chris Pollak shot 75-74 for a 149 total and tied for second place with Zach Gempel who shot 80-69.
Athena Singh grabbed the first round lead at Denison Golf Club on Saturday with a three over par 74. The Hall of Famer shot 34 o the front nine on Sunday but was eventually caught after 35 holes. She then birdied the 36th and final hole of the tournament to cement a two stroke victory. The win was the seventh of her Golfweek Junior Tour career and the second in less than a month. Athena recorded a 74-73, 147 total over the two days. Meadow Tian (76-73) and Sarah Yang (77-72) both tied for second place at 149 total.
Aaron Xu fired the round of the tournament on Saturday at Denison Golf Club. His 73 gave him a one stroke overnight lead. A rough start on Sunday saw him start dropping down the leaderboard. However, Aaron locked in and righted the ship. He played the final 13 holes in one over par and polished off his second career Golfweek Junior Tour win. Aaron finished the tournament at 150 (73-77). William Qiao finished in second place after rounds of 74-78, 152 total. Blaise Barnum shot scores of 77-76 for a 153 total and third place.
Anna Phillips posted the round of the tournament on day one at Denison Golf Club with an 82. Her second round saw her put up a score of 84, just one stroke off the low score of the day. That added up to a 166 and a three stroke final margin of victory. Anna polished off her first Golfweek Junior Tour win in just her second start in style with a birdie on the final hole of the tournament. Eva Emerson put up scores of 86-83 for a169 total and second place. Amelia Buettner shot 93-89 for a 182 and third place.
