Novak Cruises at Purdue




Matthew Novak shot a four under par 68 in the first round, after coming back Sunday morning to complete round one at the Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue University. That round gave him a two stroke lead heading into the afternoon Sunday where Matthew was able to put his round on cruise control and strolled to a two under par 70, good for a three shot win. The victory was his first in 18 career Golfweek Junior Tour starts. Matthew tied for the tournament lead over the weekend with both nine birdies and an eagle. Silas Haarer (71-70) and Jack Besner (75-66) tied for second place with totals of three under par, 141.






In the Boys 14-15 division, Eli Wessel's steady play earned him his fourth career victory on the Golfweek Junior Tour. Eli managed to go the entire weekend with nothing worse than a bogey. That, combined with his four birdies held off the competition. Eli escaped with a one stroke margin of victory. His rounds of 72-73 totaled up to a one over par 145 score for the weekend. Mitchell Keene shot 77-69, 146 to finish one stroke back in second place. Third place went to Tommy Klinker (75-74) at 149 total.






Ethan White fired the round of the day on both Saturday and Sunday to cement his fourth career Golfweek Junior Tour victory. Ethan opened the tournament with a 72 on Saturday, which was goa one stroke lead heading into Sunday. He the opened Sunday with two birdies in the first six holes, which grew his lead to three. He played the final 12 holes in even par for a final round 70 and a seven shot win. Nick Pollak (73-76) came in second at 149. Jake Hardin placed third after rounds of 76-74, 150 total.
