New Champions at Indiana

In his 7th start on the GolfWeek Jr Tour, Adam Melliere would birdie the 36th hole to win by one stroke. On a rain soaked golf course this past weekend, he would start the event with 16 pars on Saturday and post a 74. This would place him 3 strokes off the lead, but his opening nine Sunday would include 3 bogies in the first 8 holes. He would turn things around on the 9th with a birdie, and then head to the back where his 1 under par 34 would be just enough to edge out Cole Starnes who posted the low round of the day with a 70, and take home second place.

Nicole Johnson started the event with a solid round, 73, that included just 3 bogies and 1 birdie. That 73 tied her for medalist honors Saturday with Sydney Deal. Sunday's round played more difficult across the field, but Nicole was able to barely edge out Maddie Heister and Annika Manju with a 79 on Sunday and take home the overall title by 1 stroke. Her birdie on the difficult, uphill, par 3 #15 on the back nine was her highlight of the second round and was needed late in the day to secure the victory.

Happy Gilmore is undefeated in his last two starts on the GolfWeek Jr Tour with another win at Indiana University's Pfau golf course. Last year he won on Purdue's Ackerman course and this marks his second win in just 4 starts on the GolfWeek Jr Tour. He was able to pull off the 2 stroke victory, despite starting the event with a double bogey on the very fist hole. After starting the event 2 over on the first hole, he would play the next 35 holes in only 4 over par to edge out Peyton Blackard.

It took extra holes for Landon Snyder to claim his first victory on the GolfWeek Jr Tour this weekend and he would win that playoff on the fist hole making a 10 foot putt for a birdie. Landon's consistent play all weekend, and carding 1 under par on the final 7 holes would place him in a tie with Eli Wessel, who carded the low round Sunday with a 71. They would head back to the 1st tee to start the playoff and Landon would make his 10 footer for birdie to finish the weekend with a victory.
