Miller wins at Purdue Ackerman
The Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue University gave way to a birdie barrage in the Boys 16-19 division. Seven players carded under-par opening rounds which set up for an exciting Sunday finish. Silas Haarer, Jake Cesare, Brayden Miller, and Cameron Phillips were our featured group to start the final round. Miller and Phillips both made the turn in 32 (-4), to jump out in front over Cesare by one stroke. The battle continued throughout the back nine and all the way to the final hole with Miller and Phillips tied at the top, Cesare one back, and Silas Haarer three back. After a couple burned edges by his playing competitors, Brayden Miller would hole his short birdie putt to finish at 8-under par and take home the trophy in the Boys 16-19 division! Cameron Phillips and Jake Cesare finished at 7-under par and 6-under par, respectively to round out our podium. Silas Haarer and Brayden Lamborne tied for fourth place at 4-under par.
The Boys 14-15 division displayed great scoring as well with multiple players carding rounds under par. Macaulay Myers found himself atop the leaderboard again for back-to-back victories! Myers carded rounds of 70-71 for a two-day total of 3-under par, 141 including 8 birdies over the two rounds. Zac McGrath took home runner up honors after a hole-out eagle on the final hole of the event. Zac finished the tournament at 1-under par, 143. Elijah Lemmon played his way into third place after shooting 2-under par in the final round to finish the event at 4-over par.
The Boys 13 & Under division was jam packed at the top of the leaderboard. Aiden Loyd was seven strokes back of the lead after the opening round but turned on the jets during round 2 to take home the title! Aiden played his final 9 holes three under par to card a final round 71 (-1) and a two-day total of 148, 4-over par.
