Miller Joins HOF with Purdue Win
Following his incredible tournament at Notre Dame, Brayden Miller kept his winning ways going at Purdue's Kampen Golf Course. The win sent Brayden into the Golfweek Junior Tour Hall of Fame as he earned his 12th career victory. After a first round 69, he came out hot on Sunday, recording a front nine 31 to snatch the lead. Brayden closed the round out strongly and closed with a 66 for a 135 total. Will Harvey posted rounds of 68-70 for a 6 under par 138 and second place. Peyton Blackard (73-67), Harper Ackermann (71-69), and Harrison Zipfel (70-70) all tied for third place at 140.
Eli Wessel captured his fifth career victory at Purdue University on Sunday in the Boys 14-15 division. Eli started Sunday in third place but used early birdies at the fourth and eighth holes to take a lead he would not surrender. He led the field in birdies with nine, including five on the second day. Eli shot 74 on Saturday and backed that up with a 69 on Sunday for a one under par 143 total. Luke Haarer shot 76-70 for a 146 total and second place on the weekend. Third place went to Brayden Lamborne after he shot 73-75, 148.
Grant Guetig continued his strong play from this fall with a win at Purdue University's Kampen Course. After finished as the runner-up in his first Golfweek Junior Tour event two weeks ago, Grant capitalized on opportunities and broke through for his first win. Grant owned the overnight lead after Saturday's 71, but that lead was wiped out after six holes on Sunday. However, grant kept his cool and finished strong, posting a second day 75 for a 146 total. Finn Johnson (73-74) finished one stroke back in second place at 147. Blake Rohling came in third with scores of 72-80, 152.
