Hudepohl and Bartlett Shine at NorthStar
Eleanor Hudepohl ended her hall of fame career on the GolfWeek Jr Tour with a win this week at North Star Golf Club. Eleanor went wire-to-wire with a 71-71 -142 total and would claim the Girls 15-19 division by 13 strokes and the overall girls title by 5. The highlight of her tournament came late in the second round where she would birdie the 13th and 14th holes and then eagle the par 5, 16th hole. This marks Eleanor's 5th win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour and concludes her junior career!
In his career low round, Finley Bartlett, carded 6 birdies and an eagle for a 7 under par 65. He would start his round on fire with 3 straight birdies to open the round. After two pars, he would birdie the 6th hole and then eagle the 7th. After barely missing a birdie on the 9th hole, he would settle for 30 on the front nine. After the turn, Finley would card birdies on the 11th and 13th holes and complete the back nine with a 35. With his 65, Finley took home medalist honors on Tuesday over all boys in the 14-19 divisions, and he would claim the overall title by 2 strokes.
In his third start on the GolfWeek Jr Tour, Connor Ritter would take home the Boys 16-19 title with the help of a 4 under par 68 on Tuesday. This marks his lowest round on the GolfWeek Jr Tour and was good enough to take home the victory by 1 stroke over Ty Sylla. Connor would record 9 birdies over the two rounds and card a closing 34 on the back nine to complete the tournament.
Lorna Zhang posted the low round of the tournament for all girls divisions with her opening 2 under par, 70. Her scorecard would include 5 birdies and just 3 bogies in a stellar round that would give her the lead by 8 strokes in the Girls 14 & Under division. She would conclude the event with a 77 in round 2 and claim her first victory on the GolfWeek Jr Tour.
Dylan Somma took home the Boys 13 & Under title with help from his near perfect play on the front nine in both rounds. He would card a 35 on the front nine in round one with an eagle on the 7th hole, in round two he would card a 34 with 3 birdies. It was his front nine scores that would help him to a 2 stroke victory over Micah Sheffer and take home his first win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour
