High Temps, Low Scores at Heatherwoode

Carson Harmon captured his first Golfweek Junior Tour win on Thursday in only his second start. He fired a 69 on Wednesday to take a two shot lead through 18 holes. Carson birdied the final hole of the tournament for a 72 on the fianl day to seal the victory. Paari Kaviyarasu made a late charge with three birdies in his last eight holes. It was not enough to overtake the lead, but it did help him wrap up second place with back-to-back 71s. Winston Brown finished alone in third with a 144 total.

It did not take Meadow Tian long to record her first win in the Girls 15-19 division on the GJT. After three wins last year in the 14 and Under division, she played excellent golf over two days to capture a resounding win. She led the field in birdies with seven and fired a 143 total for a nine shot win. Kylee Heidemann (78-74) and Caroline Thompson (79-73) both finished in a tie for second place with a 152 stroke total.

Sam Fauver used 4 birdies against only one bogey on Wednesday to put up a first round 68 at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Sam racked up four more birdies on Thursday en route to a 73 and a seven shot win. It was Sam's first start on the Golfweek Junior Tour and his first win. Drew Seichter shot a blistering 6-under 65 in the first round in a round that included 7 birdies. Drew finished in second place with a two-day total of 148. Michael Stagnaro rounded out the top three with a 150.

Olivia Donovan picked up a Golfweek Junior Tour victory this week. Olivia posted a first round 87. She then backed that up with a second round 92. This was Olivia's second win on the tour after winning earlier this summer at Miami University's Hueston Woods Golf Course.

Just like his brother Sam, Ben Fauver was making his first appearance on the Golfweek Junior Tour. And he similarly won in convincing fashion. Ben shot an opening 69, which included a 32 on the back nine at Heatherwoode. He cruised home on Thursday with a 74 for a 143 total. This kept him 17 shots clear of any competitors. Austin Nicholas shot a 160 total to capture second place for the week. Brody Hayes finished two back of Austin at 162 to finish in third.
