Haarer Wins at Purdue Again

Silas Haarer won the third straight Golfweek Junior Tour event at Purdue University's Ackerman-Allen Course. Silas won both the summer and fall event at the course last year and now adds the summer 2023 event to his collection. Silas recorded eight birdies and an eagle and eventually duplicated his scores from the summer 2022 tournament by shooting 66-73 for a 5 under, 139 total. Luke Kahle finished the tournament in second place with scores of 70-71, 141 total. Daymian Rij was one stroke behind that with a pair of 71s.

Ashley Kirkland put on a stunning performance Wednesday at Purdue University. After starting the day five stokes off the lead in sixth place, Ashley turned in a clean 68 with no bogeys. That was enough to force a playoff. She then birdied the first hole of the playoff and captured her first Golfweek Junior Tour win. Ashley shot 78-68 over two days, good for a 2 over par 146 total. Caroline Whallon ended up in second place and also posted a 146 (73-73). Addison Kooi finished one back at 147 with scores of 75-72.

Will Mangas carded five birdies over the two day event at the Ackerman-Allen Course to record his first Golfweek Junior Tour victory. Will started Wednesday three strokes off the lead, but managed to overtake the leader after the first five holes of the day. Once he claimed the lead, Will never looked back. He coasted in with a final round 73 and a three shot win. Will posted a 78-73, 151 total for the tournament. Landon Stillwell finished in second with rounds of 81-73, 154 total. Hudson Cripe (75-84), Luke Haarer (80-79), and Collin Bauer (80-79) all tied for third place.

Miranda Kennard posted the low round of the day each day at the Ackerman-Allen Course at Purdue University to register her first Golfweek Junior Tour victory in her first start. Miranda made three pars in a row to start the back nine on Wednesday, the best stretch of the tournament. Her final scores were 97-100 for a 197 total.
