Gottman With a Comeback Win at NCR

Lillian Gottman started the second round at the one day event at NCR Country Club in fourth place after a first round 77. That did not last long as she shot a three under par 33 on the front nine. Lillian then added birdies on the 13th and 14th holes to get it to four under par on the round. From there, she was able to cruise in and she wound up with a two stroke win, the first of her Golfweek Junior Tour career. She ended up with a final round 77 and a total of 147. Morgan Rodgers came in second place with rounds of 74-75, 149 total. Third place was awarded to Caroline Whallon who shot 76-74, 150.

In the Boys 16-19 division, Daniel Heister controlled the event from the jump. Daniel fired a first round 67 which included a 31 on the front nine. Even with the great round, that only left him a stroke ahead of the nearest competitor after 18 holes. With three straight birdies on the back nine, Luke Kahle was able to catch Daniel with just a few holes left. However, Daniel kept his cool and birdied the final two holes of the tournament to shoot 69. The 136 total left earned him his third career GJT win and second at NCR. Luke ended up in second place after his rounds of 68-70 for a 138 total. CJ Scohy took third with rounds of 71-70 for a 141 total.

The first round of the Boys 14-15 division saw four players within a stroke of each other after one round. Landon Snyder emerged from that group and seized control of the tournament with his second round 69. That round included four birdies and was the low round of the tournament by six shots. Landon also led the field in birdies over both rounds with seven total birdies. The 76-69, 145 total helped Landon snag the fourth win of his GJT career and first in over a year. Matthew Kreusch and Mitchell Sargent tied for second place with identical 76-75, 151 totals.
