Eleanor Hudepohl - Into the Hall of Fame
Coming into this weekend Eleanor Hudepohl had won 3 times on the GolfWeek Jr Tour. To make it into the Hall of Fame a player needs 4 wins, and 2 of those must be overall wins.
On Saturday Eleanor posted 14 pars and a birdie on her way to a 73. She would post the first round medalist position by just 1 stroke over Morgan Rogers who is having a great Spring season with 3 runner-up finishes.
Sunday weather would not cooperate and after playing 6 holes in already wet conditions, a storm cell dropped too much water on the course to remain playable. This would result in Eleanor's 4th win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour and earned her a spot in the Hall of Fame. (Here is a link to the Hall of Fame: https://www.golfweekjuniortour.com/hall-of-fame )
Jack O"Donnell secured his first win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour this past weekend with an incredible opening round of 67 which saw him close out the round with 3 birdies in his last 4 holes. Those closing holes are known to be the toughest stretch on the course, but Jack's finish placed him 2 strokes ahead of our Player of the Year contender, Carson Bellish.
With Sunday's round wiped out, Jack's first round would stand as medalist position and give him his first win on the tour
With a solid round of 80 on Saturday in wet conditions with high rough, Ellie Ryu grabbed the medalist position by 3 strokes over Ally Turner. It was the three birdies she posted during the round the gave her the edge and was enough to claim her 4th win this season
In the Boys 14-15 division it was a pair of brothers fighting over the top spot this weekend at Heatherwoode. Eric and Ryan Zhao would post 73's on Saturday, but in a very different way from each other. Ryan would post a 40 on his opening nine, however, make the turn and record 3 birdies and a 33 to come back. Eric would post a more consistent round with 3 bogies and 1 birdie. Without the course being playable on Sunday to have a playoff, Eric would ultimately win the scorecard playoff to take home the title.
Noah Andry is an up and comping player on the GolfWeek Jr Tour recording a 3rd place finish two weeks ago at Royal America and now secured his first win at Heatherwoode. His Saturday round would include 2 birdies and 13 pars on the way to a 73. His 2 over par round was good enough to edge out Ryan Parker's 74 by 1 stroke and take home the title at Heatherwoode.
