Daye, Pagnotto win at Darby Creek
Darby Creek Golf Club played host to our field of golfers and was a fantastic showcase of scoring by all divisions. Narisse Daye took an early lead in the Girls 15-19 division after carding 5 birdies in the first round in route to a 70 (-2) and a two-stroke lead. She continued her excellent play into the second round with 2 more birdies on her way to a 74 (+2) and a 3-stroke victory to take home the Girls 15-19 division title at level par for the event! Eva Lim finished runner up after rounds of 72-75 for a two round total score of 147 (+3). Carter Lankford rounded out our podium finishers in third place with rounds of 74-75, 149 (+5).
The Boys 14-15 division was action packed as Evan Menges led the way after an opening round 68 (-4) and Mitchell Corbin in pursuit with a 69 (-3). Michael Pagnotto was four strokes behind heading into round 2 after his opening round of 72 (E). Michael took the course by storm in the second round, carding 6 birdies on his way to a bogey-free, 66 (-6) to take home the Boys 14-15 and overall Boys 14-19 division titles! Mitchell Corbin finished runner up after rounds of 69-74 for a two round total score of 143 (-1). Evan Menges finished in third place at 145 (+1).
The Boys 16-19 division was full of great play as well with 14 rounds at level par or better for the two rounds of competition. Cooper Reitsma took the first-round lead with a 69 (-3), carding 4 birdies and a Hole-in-One on the par 3, 7th hole! Brady Barnum, Zach Ayers and Colin Kaleth were all tied for second place at 71 (-1) going into the final round. Colin Kaleth carded 4 birdies in the final round to shoot a 69 (-3) and take home the Boys 16-19 division title with a two-day total score of 140 (-4). Cooper Reitsma finished runner up, two strokes behind the leader at 142 (-2), after rounds of 69-73. Jack Flores and Zach Ayers finished in a tie for third place at 143 (-1).
The Girls 14 and Under division needed extra holes to determine its champion as Taylor Harstine and Keisha Han were tied at the top of the leaderboard after 36 holes of competition. Taylor and Keisha finished with two-round total scores of 150 (+6) and would head to a sudden death playoff. Taylor Harstine rolled in a 20-foot birdie putt on the 3rd playoff hole to seal the win and take home the Girls 14 and Under division title! Keisha Han finished runner up and Hannah Kim finished in third place a 152 (+8).
Maximus Humphreys ran away with the Boys 13 and Under division after opening the tournament with a 3-under par, 69, including 5 birdies! Maximus carded a 75 in the second round to finish the event at level par, 144, and a 6-stroke victory. Blaise Barnum, Timothy Delzer, Trent Riedel, Asher Gates and Micah Ferguson all finished in a tie for second place at 6-over par, 150.
