Blackard, Gottman win at Purdue



Purdue University's Kampen-Cosler Course played host to our event this week where all of our divisions came down to the wire. Peyton Blackard was victorious in our Boys 16-19 division after a bogey-free 67, five-under par, in the final round. Peyton has continued his dominance on the GolfWeek Junior Tour collecting his second win of Summer and 17th win of his career. He finished the event at four-under par, 140, one stroke ahead of second place Caden Baker. Caden carded rounds of 69-72 to end the tournament at three-under par, 141. Jacob Holzer and Robbie Burt finished in a tie for third place at one-over par, 145.






Emily Gottman took home the gold in the Girls 15-19 division with rounds of 74-75 to finish the event at five-over par, 149. Emily and fellow competitor, Alex Reschly, fought head-to-head all tournament matching rounds of 74 day one. Emily was able to narrowly pull away on day two by one stroke. Alex finished the event at 6-over par, 150, in solo second place. Sophie Richmond carded rounds of 77-75 to round out our podium finishers at 8-over par, 152.






The Boys 14-15 division was another close battle to the end as Elijah Lemmon was able to come from behind and take home the trophy over Luke Haarer. Elijah fired consistent rounds of 73-73 to win the event at 2-over par, 146. He made 4 birdies in the final round to come back from a four-stroke overnight deficit. Luke Haarer was the runner up at four-over par, 148, after rounds of 69-79. Yale Feniger earned himself a spot on the podium in third place at 9-over par, 153.






Gavin Davis led the Boys 13 & Under division wire-to-wire to take the trophy in his home state of Indiana. Gavin carded rounds of 74-79, including three birdies, to finish the event at 9-over par 153. Myles Ray took home second place honors with rounds of 78-77 to finish just two shots shy of Gavin at 11-over par. Jaxon Brouillette was our third-place finisher at 14-over par.
