Big Day for First-Time Champions

Luke Barrett recorded his first GJT win on Monday at Dayton Country Club. Luke fired a first round 71 to tie for the lead at the halfway point. He then went back out in the afternoon and put up the round of the tournament with a career low 68. His 139 total was good for a seven stoke victory over Klay Redman, Ian Reed, and Tom Buchert.

Kylee Heidemann used three first round birdies to post a 77 in the morning round. Under sunny skies in the afternoon, she shot an 83, which was good enough to cruise to a two shot victory over Kenna Jenkinson. It was the first win for Hiedemann on the GJT. Faith Brumfield rounded out the top three with a 164, four shots back of Heidemann.

CJ Scohy picked up his second victory in a row after winning earlier this month at NCR Country Club. He played a great first round with three birdies and only two bogeys en route to a 1 under par 70. In the afternoon, he shot a 74 for a 144 total. That kept him three shots clear of Luke Warner and four clear of Zach Radtke, who finished second and third respectively.

Michael Moorman fired a pair of 81s on Monday at Dayton Country Club. Those were the two best round overall for his age division. That resulted in Michael's first GJT win, a resounding nine shot victory over Blake Rohling. Rohling shot 171 and finished two strokes ahead of Harrison Young at 173.
