Cesare conquers Rock Hollow
Jake Cesare, having just turned 14 years old, becomes one of our youngest Boys 14-19 champions in our tour's history.
Jake came out with a solid round of 72 with 2 birdies and 2 bogies in the opening round Saturday. That round put him 3 back of the first round leader, Aidan Gutierrez who shot 69. Jake came out firing in round two, with a birdie on the 1st hole and another on the 8th. He carded two more birdies on the back nine to complete a bogey free round of 68 and take home the overall Boys 14-19 title by 3 strokes and the Boys 14-15 title by 7.
Sam McWilliams continued his solid play this year on the GolfWeek Jr Tour with an opening round of 70 that included 3 birdies and just 1 bogey. Starting round two on the back nine, he started round two with a great 35 before settling in for a 73. It was more than enough to win the Boys 16-19 division by 4 strokes and take his first win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour
Ava Bunker took a commanding lead in round one with an 80, but extended that lead even further with an incredible 73 to take home the Girls 15-19 division title. Her second round featured 2 birdies and 14 pars to take home her first win on the tour.
It was a close match in the Boys 13 & Under division with 3 players within 2 strokes, but Ryan Parker was able to hold on with birdies on the 14th, 16th, and 17th holes coming in. His rounds of 69-73 (-2) got him the victory by 2 strokes in the Boys 13 & Under division and marks his first win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour
