Players of the Year emerge from Tour Championship
The Tour Championship at Hueston Woods and Indian Ridge awards the final points in the Player of the Year race for the 2019-2020 season. This event awards 50% more points due to the 3 rounds played and it being the culmination of the year.
Every year there is a close race heading into the event that vaults players into the lead spot and this year was no different.
The 2019-2020 Players of the Year
Boys 16-19
Connor Gdovin - 4,503 Points - 1st place in the Tour Championship with a 7 under par total and 1 shot win. Connor never posted a finish outside the top 20 this year, and claimed 2 victories, one of them being the Tour Championship.
Girls 15-19
Kary Hollenbaugh - 1,415 Points - 1st place in the Tour Championship with a 5 stroke victory and 2 under par total. Kary's resume included an impressive 3 wins in just 4 starts this season
Boys 14-15
Tyler Sabo - 2,586 points - T7 finish in the Tour Championship was enough to maintain his top position heading into the event and claim player of the year. Tyler claimed 3 victories and three other top 3 finishes throughout the season.
Girls 14 & Under
Sydney Deal - 668 Points - 9th place in the Tour Championship wasn't going to change her commanding lead heading into the Tour Championship. She easily maintained her lead position with the 4 victories and two other top 3 finishes for the season.
Boys 13 & Under
Peyton Blackard - 1,912 Points - Peyton needed a win coming into the Tour Championship in order to claim the Player of the Year title. He not only won, he claimed an 11 stroke victory and set the new 36 hole scoring record and 54 hole scoring record at the Tour Championship. Peyton claimed 4 victories in the 2019-2020 season and never finished outside the top 5.
