Strong finish propels Rieck
DICKSON, Tenn. – William Rieck played the final 10 holes in bogey-free 2-under-par to pull out a 1-shot victory in the Boys 16-19 division at Greystone Golf Club.
Rieck took a 1-shot lead over Drew Taylor into the final round and built it to three over Sunday’s first six holes. But Rieck’s double bogey at the eighth combined with Taylor birdies at 7, 10 and 13 put him a shot back with five to play. Rieck answered with birdies at 14 and 15 to regain the lead which he would maintain with pars on the final three holes.
Rieck finished at 74-73—147 while Taylor captured the runner-up position at 75-73—148.
Andy Hennen (76-74—150) and Paxton Schwomeyer (75-75—150) shared third place while Michael Wareham rounded out the top five with scores of 79-72—151.
