Bonny nabs victory at Harmony Landing
GOSHEN, Ky. – Peyton Bonny birdied two of the final four holes in a late rally to win the Boys 16-19 division at Harmony Landing Country Club.
Bonny, competing on his home course, fired rounds of 72-73—145 to beat Kody Reynolds by one shot. At one point during the final round Bonny found himself four shots back then with four to play he trailed Reynolds by three shots. He went on to birdie the 15th and 17th holes while Reynolds posted bogeys at 16 and 17.
The victory marked Bonny’s first GJT win in seven appearances.
Reynolds finished at 73-73—146 for sole possession of second place while Charlie Morgan took third with rounds of 76-72—148.
Drew Hollman shot 74-78—152 for fourth place while Paxton Schwomeyer rounded out the top five with rounds of 75-78—153.
Leyerle nabs third GJT win
Sydney Leyerle played the final 11 holes in bogey-free 1-under-par to pull out a 1-shot victory in the Girls 15-19 division at Harmony Landing.
Leyerle, who bagged the third win of her GJT career, finished with rounds of 77-70—147 to beat Angelica Pfefferkorn by one shot. Pfefferkorn led Leyerle by three shots entering the final round but saw Leyerle overtake her with three birdies over a 5-hole stretch on the inward nine.
Audrey Becker took third place with rounds of 76-74—150 while Macie Brown shot 78-75—153 to take third place.
Christina Pfefferkorn rounded out the top five by firing 76-79—155.
Bischoff wins with final-round birdie barrage
Lucas Bischoff recorded six birdies in the final round in charging to a 4-shot victory in the Boys 14-15 division at Harmony Landing.
Bischoff trailed Colten Wilson by two shots entering Sunday’s final round then made double bogey at the opening hole in falling behind by three. Bischoff then reeled off three straight birdies to give him the lead and he would never trail again.
Bischoff followed up with birdies at 16, 1 and 9 to conclude his scoring and wrap up his first GJT win in three appearances this season.
Wilson finished at 77-76—153 for sole possession of second place while Charlie Dahlem took third with rounds of 79-78—157.
Bauersfeld wins GJT debut
Lydia Bauersfeld 88-89—177 to beat Keira Yun in a two-person battle for the Girls 14-and-under title at Harmony Landing.
The win came in Bauersfeld’s first appearance in GJT event and came by a margin of 15 shots.
Howard eagles to claim Boys 13-and-Under
Landen Howard eagled the first playoff hole to beat Vaughn Harber in the Boys 13-and-under division at Harmony Landing.
Howard came from four shots back of Harber in the final round, then found himself down by two with four to play. Howard played the final six holes in bogey-free 1-under-par while Harber suffered a bogey along the way to set up the playoff.
Howard finished regulation at 77-72—149 while Harber came in at 73-76—149.
Finley Bartlett made a strong bid to enter the playoff with his birdie at the last, but three bogeys over the final five holes relegated him to a third-place finish at 74-76—150.
