Record-setting weekend for Adams

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Kynadie Adams set GJT scoring records for 18- and 36-hole scores in her 9-shot victory at Hermitage Golf Club.

Adams fired rounds of 66-68—134, which broke the previous 36-hole mark by two shots. Her opening-round 6-under-par 66 broke the previous mark of 5-under.

Her Saturday 66 was flawless and included four birdies and an eagle at the par-5 11th. She recorded zero bogeys on the round and jumped out to a 5-shot lead over Kyndall Shamblin, who posted three birdies en route to a 71.

Shamblin was able to close the gap to three shots after Adams stumbled to a double bogey at the fourth Sunday, but Adams would respond with a flurry of birdies that started at 8. She birdied 8 then posted birdies at 11, 12, 14, 15 and 17 to end any hopes of the field applying pressure.

Shamblin finished at 71-72—143 to finish alone in second place while Kelly Jang took third with rounds of 74-76—150. Destynie Sheridan shot 79-75—154 for fourth place while Grace Aromando rounded out the top five at 79-76—155.

Dickerson goes low in Boys 16-19

Tate Dickerson fired rounds of 70-68—138 in rolling to a 5-shot victory in the Boys 16-19 division at Hermitage.

In Saturday’s opening round, Dickerson took with four birdies against two bogeys. He built a 1-shot lead over Ben Hoaglan, who closed with three birdies over the final four holes.

In Sunday’s final round, Dickerson ran away from the field thanks to a 6-hole stretch that included five birdies starting at the seventh.

Hoagland finished at 71-72—143 for sole possession of second place while Reece Britt took third following rounds of 74-70—144. Caleb Wessmer shot 74-71—145 for fourth place while Patrick Kennedy rounded out the top-5 with scores of 75-71—146.
