Brown takes title at Heritage Hill

Macie Brown hits an approach shot during her victory at Heritage Hill.

SHEPERDVILLE, Ky. – Macie Brown fired rounds of 75-75—150 to come out of the Girls 14-and-Under division and win the girls overall title at Heritage Hill Golf Club.

Brown’s final round consisted of birdies at Nos. 8 and 16 as she ran away from the field in her division and beating Kirsty Mitchell by two shots for the overall.

Just as in the final round, Brown posted two birdies against five bogeys in the opening round, staking her to an 8-shot lead over Anna Coccia. Brown’s steady play in the final round enabled her to increase her lead and eventually win the 14-and-under division by 16 shots.

Coccia finished at 83-83—166 for sole possession of second place while Abigail Sutherland finished alone in third at 92-80—172.

Mitchell claims Girls 15-19 title

Kirsty Mitchell

Kirsty Mitchell posted rounds of 76-76—152 in pulling out a 3-shot victory over Grace Mitchell in the Girls 15-19 division at Heritage Hill.

The victory was Kirsty’s first in the GJT 15-19 division in five appearances this season and her first overall since she won at Rio Pinar in January of 2017.

Kirsty led Grace by one shot entering the final round then quickly turned that into a 5-shot lead with a birdie at the first hole. With Grace pulling things together after a disastrous triple bogey start, she managed to close the gap to two with three holes to play, but Kirsty’s birdie at the 16th put too much distance between them at that point.

Grace Mitchell

Grace finished alone in second with rounds of 77-78—155 while Katelyn Kuc made a strong charge the final day to finish alone in third at 83-73—156.

Stanley charges to victory in Boys 15-19

Ethan Stanley overcame a 6-shot deficit to win the Boys 15-19 division at Heritage Hill by two strokes.

Stanley followed up his opening-round 77 with a 7-birdie performance in the final round to shoot 69. He recovered from a double bogey at the 15th to post birdies at 16 and 18 to wrap up the win.

The victory was Stanley’s first on the GJT in two appearances this season and first since a victory at Bowling Green in March of 2017.

Pierre Southibournnorath shot 74-74—148 to finish in a 3-way tie for second place with Jared DeVille (75-73—148) and Brody Webb (81-67—148).

Andrew Flynn, the first-round leader after a 71, shot 78 the final round to fall back into a tie for fifth place with Zach Brinks (74-75—149).

Pinili goes wire-to-wire in Boys 14-15

Lorenzo Pinili fired rounds of 73-73—146 to beat Zach Braun by four shots in the Boys 14-15 division at Heritage Hill.

Pinili carried a 3-shot lead over Braun into the final round and made birdie on the opening hole to extend that lead. After Braun had battled back to within one shot, Pinili notched his second birdie of the day at the 13th to take advantage of Braun’s earlier double bogey and keep the field at bay.

Braun finished at 76-74—150 for sole possession of second place while Jake Yarbrough took third with rounds of 80-76—156.
