Hahn, Christman victorious at Elks Run


BATAVIA, Ohio – Jessica Hahn’s par on the first playoff hole gave her a victory over Kristin Jamieson in the Girls 15-19 division at Elks Run Golf Club.

Hahn, who is set to play collegiately at the University of Akron, fired rounds of 76-71—147 in regulation including a bogey-free 2-under stretch over the final seven holes. She trailed Jamieson by four shots heading into the final round and caught her when Jamieson made bogey at the last.

Jamieson finished 72-75—147 to earn second place with her bogey in the playoff. Pinya Pipatjarasgit shot 77-73—150 to finish in sole possession of third place while Marissa Wenzler (74-77—15) and Olivia DiPaolo (77-75—152) rounded out the top five.

Christman rallies in Boys 16-19

Cole Christman posted six birdies in a final-round charge to win the Boys 16-19 division at Elks Run.

Christman started the final round three shots behind leader Henry Perry then made double bogey on his fourth hole played and seemed out of contention. But he made his charge with birdies on his seventh and ninth holes and would later make birdie on three of the final five holes to clinch the win.

Christman finished with rounds of 75-68—143 to beat Perry (72-73—145) and Avery Green (74-71—145) by two shots. Austin Greaser shot 75-71—146 to finish in a tie for fourth place with Alex Doss, who shot 74-72—146.

Khan earns 4-shot win in Boys 14-15

Ali Khan fired rounds of 75-71—146 in rolling to a 4-shot win over Matthew Troutman in the Boys 14-15 division at Elks Run.

Khan trailed Troutman by one stroke heading into the final round then made birdies at 3 and five to take the lead. The was short-lived as Khan made three straight bogeys while Troutman’s birdie at No. 7 helped him to a 3-shot lead with the inward nine remaining.

Khan proceeded to post birdies at 12, 13 and 16 while Troutman struggled with three bogeys and two double bogeys at that point.

Troutman finished alone in second place with rounds of 74-76—150 while Ben Armbrusterrounded at the top three at 78-76—154.

Hu goes back-to-back

Rachel Hu won for the second straight week, firing rounds of 79-73—152 to win the Girls 14-and-under division at Elks Run by four shots.

Hu trailed Anna Ritter by one shot through the first four holes Sunday then reeled off eight straight pars before a birdie and subsequent 3-shot lead at that point.

Ritter finished with rounds of 78-78—156 to finish in a tie for second place with Kirsty Mitchell, who posted scores of 81-75—156.

Kary Hollenbaugh finished alone in fourth with rounds of 83-77—160.

Horn holds on in Boys 13-and-Under

Adam Horn posted rounds of 74-75—159 and held off a late charge from Lorenzo Pinili to win the Boys 13-and-Under division at Elks Run.

Horn built a 6-shot lead over Pinili through 14 holes Sunday when things got interesting. Pinili made birdie at 15 then Horn finished double bogey-bogey and Pinili made birdie at the last.

Pinili finished at 77-73—150 for second place while Logan McCarrell sho 76-78—154 for sole possession of third place.
