Bellar into the Hall of Fame

Ball State commit, Kash Bellar, wrote his name into the history books with his 10th win on the GolfWeek Jr Tour and earned a place in the Hall of Fame with his overall win at the Player's Club this weekend.

Getting off to a fast start in round one, Kash claimed medalist honors with a first round 68 that featured 6 birdies. He then started round 2 with an eagle and 2 birdies through the first 7 holes. However, a double bogey on the 8th hole would allow Ryan Ford to claw back to even with Kash through 33 holes of the tournament. Ryan's chip in birdie on the par three, 13th, and birdie on the par five, 15th holes would bring Ryan to six under par for the tournament and even with Kash. However, Kash was able to par the last 3 holes and narrowly defeat Ryan by one stroke for the event.

With one of the most steady performances of the weekend, Peyton Blackard recorded his first victory in the Boys 14-15 division. His 142, 2 under par, performance claimed the win by 7 strokes and even placed him in contention for the overall Boys 14-19 title.

His two rounds of 71-71 included 6 birdies and just 4 bogeys for a consistent and solid weekend. This marks Peyton's 4th event this season and he has not placed out side the top 6 in any of them.

Brayden Miller is beginning to run away with Fall Player of the Year honors for the Boys 13 & Under division with 2 wins and 2 second place finishes. His win at the Player's Club this past weekend included medalist honors on Saturday with a 6 birdies and just 1 bogey. His Sunday start would add some drama to the weekend, though, with a bogey and double bogey in the first 3 holes. Brayden would correct his course, however, with rattling off 3 straight birdies and record a final round 73 and claim the Boys 13 & Under title by 4 strokes.
