The GJT Midwest Region recently announced its roster of players who just signed to play collegiate golf and we’d like to recognize and congratulate them.
On the boys side 18 players signed with colleges while there were three girls signees.
The following is the list of players along with the school he or she will attend:
Andrew Havill, Indiana. In 2011, he won three GJT events and finished sixth in the Player of the Year rankigs.
Austin Swafford, Tennessee-Martin. In 2012, Swafford was victorious in his only GJT appearance, beating Nolan Ray in a playoff at Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Chandler Morgan, Akron. He won the 2011-2012 season Tour Championship last May, his second GJT win. In his GJT career he amassed six top-5 finishes.
Cooper Musselman, Kentucky. In his lone GJT appearance in 2011, he finished 25th in a field of 40 players at the University Club of Kentucky.
Devin Jenkins, IPFW. He appeared in three GJT events in 2012, posting a victory at Indiana University and a top-5 at Olde Stone.
Daniel Shepard, IPFW. He won the event at Covered Bridge last March, marking the third top-10 finish of his GJT career.
Fred Allen Meyer, Kentucky. In two GJT events, he finished in the top-10 both times, including a fifth-place finish at Olde Stone in 2011.
J.B. Williams, Akron. In 2012 he garnered top-5 finishes in each event he played, including a victory at Olde Stone where he won by eight shots.
Jack Carter, Iowa State. In his only GJT event in 2012, he finished tied for eighth at Hueston Woods.
Jonathan Schram, Ball State. In three career events on the GJT, he finished in the top eight each time, including a tie for third at Delaware CC in 2011.
Landon Osbourne, Ashford. In his only GJT event in 2012 he finished tied for 11th at the University Club of Kentucky.
Logan Matthews, Belmont.
Matthew Mahle, Charleston. In 2011 he won the event at Olde Stone and went on to produce nine top-10 finishes.
Matthew Wetterich, Xavier. In 2012 he won the events at Clovernook and Hueston Woods and over his GJT career was twice runner-up and in the top-10 13 times.
Nick Cappola, Morehead State. He garnered two top-10 finishes on the GJT, including a tie for fourth at Heartland Crossing this past October.
Nick Paxson, Dayton. In his only GJT appearance in 2012 he finished tied for second at Clovernook.
Quentyn Carpenter, Ball State. In 2012 he won the event at Delaware CC and finished second at Olde Stone.
Tyler Overburg, Mount Saint Joseph. In 2012 he finished in the top six in three of the four events he played.
Girls:
Jessica Porvasnik, Ohio State. She won both GJT events she played, at Shaker Run in 2011 and Windmill Lakes this past May.
Julia Montgomery, Oakland. In 2012 she won three times, at Phoenix, Stone Ridge and University of Michigan and was the 2011-2012 GJT Girls Player of the Year.
Jazmin Haque, Oakland. She posted seven top-10 finishes in the past two years on the GJT.
